There’s a plethora of art galleries, unique boutiques, shops, cafés, and more all admits the gorgeous backdrop of the red rock mountains and desert gardens.
History
Kayenta got its start back in 1975 when several ranchers purchased 1300 acres west of St. George and decided to build a community. At that time, St. George had just about 10,000 residents and Santa Clara was less than 1000 without much in between the two. The ranch was a big, open, and untouched a location except for a few ranches, gates and fences interspersed throughout the desert typography.
The “Kayenta Concept” came to be known in 1979 with a master-planned community identifying major roads, open space, and spots for developing darling little beautiful desert dwellings and adobes. Today, generous open space elements have retained the quiet and pristine and feel of the community and the architecture matches beautifully with the backdrop of the artistic desert.
