Bicknell, a wealthy author and historian from Rhode Island who offered any town that would name themselves after him a thousand-volume library in 1914. Bicknell is about 17 miles west of Capitol Reef National Park, a geologic treasure that showcases cliffs, canyons, domes, bridges, and a geologic monocline that extends nearly 100 miles. Bicknell also has a year round theater that host an annual film festival with a sort of cult following, called the Bicknell International Film Festival, or BIFF. The festival celebrates not-so-critically-acclaimed cinema by featuring a B list of movies.

One town over in Torrey, just about 8 minutes away, is Etta Place Cider. Owned and operated by the same couple that founded it, this hard cider company grows the apples, makes the cider, and serves it. Visit their retail shop to try their cider and hear more about their interesting history.
